Acai juice is a fruit juice made from the acai berry. The acai berry commonly found in swamps and floodplains in the rain forests of South America. It is the fruit of the acai palm tree which is a member of the genus Euterpe, which consists of eight species of palm trees. These acai palm trees are native to Central and South America, from Belize southward to Brazil and Peru. Young acai berries are green in color. As the fruit matures, it changes color from green to deep purple. The acai berry is a small berry. Its size is comparable that of a blueberry. On an acai palm tree, which averages 15 to 25 meters in height, the berries grow in bunches similar to grapes. Each berry contains only a small amount of the precious acai pulp which is the most nutritious part of the berry. The stone inside the berry makes up about 80% of the acai fruit. People native to the Amazon, have recognized the many health benefits of this fruit for centuries. The berry has both nutritional and medicinal benefits. Typically, they would drink the acai juice made from pulping the fruit or consume the acai pulp itself. Pronounced “ah-sigh-ee, the little purple fruit has made its way outside of its native countries. The acai fruit has been a popular fruit among in Brazil and Peru but now it is also a hit in the US. In the US, however, there are no fresh acai berries, only acai juices. Since the acai palm trees do not grow in the US, drinking acai juice is the only option for people of the United States. When the acai juice was not so popular, you could only find a few brands in only selected, specialized health food stores. But, now that the demand for acai based products has skyrocketed, there seems to be more acai juice brands than most other juices. Two famous companies have attracted the most attention. They are Sambazon and MonaVie. Sambazon has a wide range of acai products, not just acai juices, whereas MonaVie is a network marketing company with only a few lines of products. No matter where you buy your acai berry, you need to do your research beforehand. You can find out a lot of about berry as well as its nutritional content before you make a purchase. By doing so, you will be able to avoid falling for scams. There are many scams that take advantage of the acai berry craze nowadays. If you are afraid of buying online, you can just visit your local grocery stores and see what acai juice they have. About the Author:

Resveratrol has now been featured in many places including the media and a variety of other sources, as well. Television shows like Oprah have even gone as far as to recommend viewers to take this amazing supplement because of its great proven benefits. In fact, Resveratrol was looked at in some ways as many as 17 years ago when 60 Minutes featured a show that looked at the benefits of red wine as well as a variety of other popular French foods and drinks on one’s health. Red wine is one of the best sources of resveratrol in natural foods and drinks. Of course, you can get an even greater, healthier effect from a compounded supplement form. Even clinical studies show the results of resveratrol. In one study, two mice were raised and given a high carb diet. However, one of the mice was also given a resveratrol supplement while the other one did not. After an extended period of time, the body masses of the two mice were measured and then compared. Amazingly, the mouse that had been consuming the resveratrol supplement was 30% thinner! Interestingly, our bodies only absorb about 40-50% of the nutrients that are contained inside the foods that we eat on a daily basis. The excess components then remain in the body sometimes in fat tissues or other places for years or more at a time. These are considered toxic and can hurt our bodies given enough time. Resveratrol is a very strong anti-oxidant and is able to go in and destroy these toxins so that they do not damage our bodies. Even if you only use resveratrol for a little bit, you can receive many benefits. So, if you want to get the great benefits from resveratrol, I recommend trying out a resveratrol supplement like Eternal RezV. Eternal RezV is even being offered for a free trial now so that you can try it and see the results for yourself before having to spend any money. About the Author:

Nowadays people are more health conscious than ever before and are more willing to spend money on their wellbeing. It’s no surprise that the market for dietary supplements is growing and we can see advertisements everywhere, in newspapers, magazines, on TV, buses, trains, and of course the internet. But are they safe to take and do we really need them? First, what exactly is a dietary or nutritional supplement? Supplements were defined in a law passed by Congress in 1994. They must meet certain criteria. In short, they must contain certain components like vitamins, minerals, amino acids to supplement the diet, must be labeled as a dietary supplement and may not be represented as a conventional food. Supplements come in a variety of forms, such as pills, capsules, powders, gel tabs, extracts, or drinks. They are much more than just vitamins and minerals. They can include herbals, botanicals, amino acids, enzymes, animal extracts, probiotics, and other beneficial ingredients. People take them for many reasons. To ensure they are getting all the nutrients, to improve their health, to prevent illness, to feel better, to sleep better, to perform better. Can they really help you? They can most certainly help you overcome nutritional deficiencies. They can also help with many ailments as well, but you have to look for quality products. Getting low quality products is not only a waste of money, but also a health risk. What to look for when choosing a supplement? Always remember that quality matters. It’s good to read the ingredients and warnings and learn about the manufacturers. An honest company will stand behind their products and offer a full money back guarantee. Dietary supplements are beneficial, especially for people who are not getting enough nutrients from their diets. But when it comes to promises, don’t believe everything you read. Just use caution and a bit of common sense and you will be healthy and safe. About the Author:

Kids don’t have that strong a relationship to vegetables. Kids will go through the motions, pushing broccoli spears and lima beans around a few times, but few veggies actually reach the inside of a kid’s mouth. And yet, we want our kids to eat vegetables on a regular basis. Serve fresh veggies daily, and make sure WE eat all the vegetables on our plates! Why bother? It turns out that vegetables - all kinds of vegetables - contain super-powerful ingredients that help keep us healthy and help us ward off a wide range of serious illnesses.1,2 These magical substances - phytochemicals - give fruits and vegetables their big nutritional kick! “Phyto” is Greek for “plant”. Brightly colored fruits and vegetables contain the most nutrients and the most phytochemicals. Well-known phytochemicals include lycopene, found in tomatoes; isoflavones, found in soy; and flavonoids, found in fruits such as blueberries and cranberries.3 Phytochemicals have wide-ranging effects as some are antioxidants, others stimulate enzyme activity, and others have hormonal action. All phytochemicals act to enhance health and well-being and human performance. Antioxidants provide significant protection for your body’s cells against the destructive oxidation potential of free radicals. Free radicals are produced by normal metabolic activities. They are neutralized by antioxidants which we obtain in a well-balanced diet. But if we are not consuming our daily requirement of fruits and vegetables, our reserves of antioxidants are decreased, and free radicals can destroy cells and create disease. For example, certain types of cancer are linked to free radical damage. Bottom line - broccoli spears are much more than flowery green things your Mom used to make you eat. Broccoli is a superfood, rich in antioxidants and rich in cancer-fighting ability. Carrots - another superfood- are rich in beta-carotene, which is an important antioxidant. Your body converts a portion of beta-carotene into Vitamin A, which helps strengthen the immune system and protects the digestive tract. Tomatoes round out the list of the top three super-veggies. Tomatoes are rich in lycopene - a potent antioxidant. Lycopenes give tomatoes their rich, red color. These phytochemicals have proven health benefits in the areas of cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis. Eating vegetables daily provides so much benefit for people of all ages. Five to nine portions of fruits and vegetables are recommended in a balanced nutritional program. Your chiropractor is an expert on nutrition and will be glad to help you construct food plans that work for you and your family as well. 1Hayes JD, et al: The cancer chemopreventive actions of phytochemicals derived from glucosinolates. Renewability, sustainability, and energy conservation are all over the news. On every newspaper’s front page and every television nightly news program features sustainability daily. These are important issues, not only for the health of our planet, but also for our physical health and well-being. Our physical health depends on how we maximize our available energy resources: how we use our body’s stores of energy, how we replace and renew that energy, and how we practice conservation of our physical energy. The interaction of all the elements of human physiology is exactly analogous to the interaction of ecosystems in the global ecology. It’s an interesting and powerful comparison. Energy resources in our body consist of nutrients obtained from food, oxygen, and stored energy in the form of sugars (glycogen) and fats. We gain energy by eating good food and balancing our nutritional choices from all the major food groups.1,2 We gain energy by having efficient and well-toned cardiovascular and respiratory systems. We gain energy with strong muscles. And we gain energy by getting sufficient rest. How we use these resources depends on instructions from the nerve system. Being able to use these resources efficiently depends on the underlying tone of our cells and tissues, which in turn depends on normal flow of information in the nerve system. Hyperactive nerve systems and sluggish nerve systems - due to a variety of causes - create imbalances up and down the line.3 Systems perform abnormally. Your metabolism slows down or speeds up. You don’t digest your food properly. You use too many or too little resources for a given task, and the job doesn’t get done properly. Muscles get tight. Joints get stiff. You have pain. You get sick. In these cases you’re using more energy - due to inefficient systems - than you’re taking in. You are not sustaining your resources, you’re depleting them. Sooner or later, your entire system will begin to breakdown. You have chronic pain, you’re tired all the time, you toss and turn when you should be sleeping, and you’re irritable during the day. Energy is not renewed. Your body’s out of balance, physically and metaphorically. Chiropractic treatment directly addresses these energy concerns. Chiropractic care is about energy management and conservation of resources. Gentle chiropractic treatment focuses on restoring balance to nerve systems, muscular systems, and physical structure. Energy begins to flow to where it’s needed most, chronic pain begins to resolve, and you begin to sleep more restfully. You have a greater focus and get done the things you want to get done during the day. Your relationships with family and friends are more enjoyable, and life itself becomes much more fun. Your chiropractor - your energy conservation specialist - is an important natural resource for your well-being and well-being of your family. 1Katona P, Katona-Apte J: The interaction between nutrition and infection. We’d all like to eat healthier, and while we’re doing it, wouldn’t it be nice if we could prevent bruising as well? The truth of the matter is that fruits and vegetables have a lot to do with how well our bodies deal with bruising, and if you are someone who bruises easily, or if you know someone who does, you may find that it is time for you to head to the produce aisle. When you make the decision to go about putting more fruits and vegetables on your table, you’ll soon realize that you can make a huge impact on your bodys healing process and even improve the bodys prevention of bruises that you might otherwise be getting. To begin with, lets talk about the foods that are rich in vitamin C. Not only does vitamin C boost your immune system, it also makes your body more resilient and more likely to bounce back from things like bruises. Eating foods that are high in vitamin C can very quickly give you a great boost in energy, as well as helping you to heal more quickly from any bruises that you may have already received. When you are trying to find the foods that have a lot of vitamin C, first consider citrus fruits. If you want to try something a little more savory, think about sweet potatoes. You also need to make sure that you are considering foods that are high in vitamin A as well. Vitamin A is one of the nutrients that your body uses to fend off cellular damage and to deal with trauma, which makes it a great addition to your diet when you want to help reduce bruising. While some people say that vitamin A is something that can be received through supplements, be wary of doing so because this can lead to vitamin A poisoning; even though it occurs only very rarely, it has been known to happen. The route that is better for you involve incorporating vitamin A into your diet, and you can do this with a variety of foods like carrots, pumpkin, cantaloupe, apricots and collard greens. You also need to realize the fact that iron is a mineral that you should be obtaining from your diet. Not only does having sufficient iron in your diet prevent you from becoming anemic, it can also be beneficial in strengthening components of your circulatory system which is a necessary step to consider when you are trying to combat bruises. When you are looking for foods that are high in iron, consider the dark, green colored vegetables. These can include spinach, broccoli, mustard greens, kale, and Swiss chard. Your body will take the iron from the vegetables, and this can be very helpful in keeping you healthy. We also need to take some time and really examine what options we have when it comes to trying to help prevent bruising. We have to evaluate our own diet, and determine the effect that it can make on helping us to improve our opportunities to prevent bruising. About the Author:
